HOW SEMI PRIVATE PIANO/KEYBOARD INSTRUCTION WORKS
Mr. Kellen works with four students at a time for one hour. Each student plays on a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano, with the same action, sound and feel of an acoustic piano. Because they are electronic, the teacher and student use headphones, so that only student can hear himself. Mr. Kellen moves around to each student, with the help of a high school assistant and each class, ensuring the one-on-one time each student needs and deserves.
- Students have the opportunity to practice what they learn at the lesson.
- Students have the opportunity to practice what they learn at the lesson.
- After the instructor listens to the student individually on a piece of music, he or she is able to correct mistakes and polish the piece.
- The hour gives the instructor more time to cover not only the students pieces, but also music theory, improvisation, history, note drills, scales, chords and ear training.
- At Studio K, STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO PRACTICE. With the one-hour experience, students learn many different ways to approach a piece of music and practice it.
- Students motivate each other to practice because of the group setting.
- Students are able to work on and play duet pieces with other students, helping to develop rhythm and ensemble skills.
- Here's a great confidence builder: students warm up before they play for the instructor, giving them the chance to play the way they want their pieces to sound.
- Students learn in a positive, non threatening atmosphere. The bottom line, students must enjoy what they are doing, otherwise, they lose the desire and dedication it takes to succeed in music. At Studio K, your child will have fun as he or she learns to make great music!
